Angladdau | Funerals

Mae trefnu angladd yn gallu bod yn anodd a heriol iawn, yn enwedig pan fyddwch chi’n ffarwelio â rhywun sydd wedi bod yn rhan fawr o’ch bywyd. Mae’r Eglwys yng Nghymru yma i’ch helpu a’ch cefnogi chi, nid yn unig wrth gynllunio’r gwasanaeth angladd ei hun, ond cyhyd ag y byddwch chi ein hangen ni wedyn.

Mae Cristnogion yn credu bod pob unigolyn wedi’i greu’n unigryw ar lun a delw Duw, ac rydym yn deall bod angen i angladd adlewyrchu popeth a oedd yn arbennig am y person roeddech chi’n ei adnabod a’i garu, waeth a yw’r gwasanaeth yn cael ei gynnal mewn eglwys, amlosgfa neu fynwent.

Er gwaethaf y teimladau cryf o golled a galar rydym yn eu profi pan fydd un o’n hanwyliaid yn marw, bydd yr Eglwys yng Nghymru bob amser yn adlewyrchu’r gobaith a’r cysur mawr sy’n sail i’r ffydd Gristnogol. Mae hyn yn rhoi sicrwydd i ni fod yna fwy na’r bywyd hwn yn unig, a thrwy Efengyl Iesu Grist, mae Duw yn addo lle i ni heb farwolaeth, dagrau na thristwch mwyach.

Mae pob person yn unigryw a dylai pob angladd fod yn unigryw hefyd. Bydd gweinidog yr eglwys, a elwir yn ficer yn aml, yn eich annog i siarad am y person rydych am ddiolch amdano a’r bywyd rydych am ei ddathlu. Gall eich helpu chi i gynllunio’r gwasanaeth, a thrafod beth sy’n bosibl gyda chi.

Mae yna sawl ffordd y gallwch chi wneud yr angladd yn wirioneddol bersonol: yr hyn sy’n cael ei ddweud am eich anwylyd, beth hoffech chi i bobl ei wisgo, y gerddoriaeth sy’n cael ei chwarae, y darlleniadau a ddewisir, y gweddïau a offrymir, neu efallai’r llun a ddewisir o’r unigolyn i’w roi yn y blaen.

Organising a funeral can be an incredibly difficult and challenging thing to do, especially so when you’re having to say goodbye to someone you love and who has been a big part of your life. The Church in Wales is here to help and support you, not only in planning the funeral service itself, but for as long as you need us afterwards.

Christians believe that each and every person is uniquely made in the image of God, and we understand that a funeral needs to reflect all that was special about the person you knew and loved, whether that service takes place at a church, crematorium or burial ground.

Despite the strong feelings of loss and grief that we often experience when a loved one dies, Church in Wales funerals will always reflect the great hope and comfort that lies at the heart of the Christian faith. This assures us that this life is not all that there is, and through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, God promises a place where there is no more death, or tears, or sadness.

Just as every person is unique, so should their funeral be. Our church minister, often referred to as a vicar, will encourage you to talk about the person you want to give thanks for and the life you want to celebrate. We can help you plan the service, and together discuss what’s possible.

There are lots of ways in which you can make the funeral feel really personal: what is said about your loved one, what you’d like people to wear, the music that is played, the readings that are chosen, the prayers that are said, or maybe choosing a photograph to place at the front.

We are here to support you before, during and after the funeral. Please do get in touch to discuss how we can help.
